My good friends have decided to move on in life and therefore this is their last weekend in Oregon. What more can they have as their memories of Oregon than mount Hood itself? So we visited mount Hood. Here are some photos of the trip:
Multnomah Falls - Mesmerizing forever..
Mount Hood - A sneak preview..
Mount Hood - The peaks..
...and the Nature's paint-brush stroke..

Florence Sand Dunes - The ATV ride
All Terrain Vehicle...Riding that was the agenda of this weekend. My friends and I randomly decided to visit Sand Dunes in Florence which lie along the coast of Oregon. The pictures that follow were not taken from my Canon Rebel XSI but from my Nexus One's 5MP camera.
That was my ATV, the transmission belt of which snapped during the ride and I got a new one then.
My buddy Belo! Fast and Furious...was leading the pack. The orange one was the replacement ATV.
My buddy Pavan found himself lost several times in the dunes.
The landscape was not bland...
and the sea was enigmatic as ever!
My blog displays pictures which according to me are good but you can visit a wide range of my pictures here:

The Blair Witch Project
'Paranormal Activity' is a nice scary movie and today we wanted to experience it ourselves. So, my friends and I headed out to a haunted place - 'The witches castle'. This place lies in lower Macleay Park. While you can find a lot of stuff on the internet about why it is haunted, I am gonna post what I experienced first hand.
It was a beautiful sunny day and we started our hike in the afternoon...
It was colorful
We walked on the trail known for 'Ghost War'
Saw the Balch Creek which reflects faces of dead people...
..and finally got to see the witches castle..
It was a nice excursion indeed but was it haunted?..I guess the ghosts were friendly with us...but one thing I can say for sure...it was very beautiful ...

Cigarettes do litter!
It's been a while I posted. I was off for 2 months due to a personal crisis. Now since I am back I wanted to fuel my blog ASAP and therefore I had been searching for a topic.
Now, my roomie smokes a lot and smoking is definitely injurious to health. Debatable! huh? Agreed but one thing is for sure, it certainly litters...Still debatable? Look for yourself...
... :) Have I won the debate hands down?

No landscapes this time!
Though I really wanna take stunning landscape photos, I guess it will take a while for me to reach there. Meanwhile, I have taken some abstract photos. Let's see how you like it!

Reverse Mount
Have just learnt this technique. This is called - Reverse Mount! You mount your lens inside out on your camera..there are adapter rings available for this..but I did it very basic..held the lens by my hands ...
This mode is really very good for taking photos of stable subjects in macro mode...because the subject has to be very close to your lens if you are using 18-55mm.

Highway I-84
Terribly disappointed by the pictures I have taken! But for the sake of this blog here they are :S
Wanted some 'perspective' photos.. not very impressed!
...Water effect here.
Silhouette because I don't know how to capture landscape colours!!

Tried the 'L' composition (disappointed by colours I have gotten and exposure etc.)
This is the only photo I liked because of the patterns!

Snow
On 12/29/09 it snowed in Beaverton, OR and my friends and I went to Tualatin park to get some nice clicks. Some of them are here:
High contrast settings in snow give stark colours.
Again photos are average so camera settings are not described here!

Mount St. Helens Trip
It was foggy...with limited knowledge of photography and camera...this was the best I could do...
Except the angle..this photo is not great...so I am not specifying its details...
I modified this photo (cropped off the lower half)..using a friend's suggestion...and I feel now it's much better...
